Chinese New Year Treasure Hunt

San Francisco
Chinese New Year Treasure Hunt
Details about the 2021 Chinese New Year Treasure Hunt (Year of the Ox) will be posted here later in 2020

Partial proceeds benefit the San Francisco Circus Center.

Definitely bring:

  1. A printout of your Eventbrite ticket.
  2. Comfortable footwear (you will do a lot of walking and / or running in the course of the hunt)
  3. A flashlight
  4. A spirit of adventure and a zest for new experiences.

Helpful but optional items:

  1. A smart phone or tablet.
  2. Snacks or drinks in a backpack.

Strongly recommended: a clipboard or piece of foamcore for your answer sheets (8-1/2”x11”)

Everyone gets a detailed map of the playing area, and every team receives an alphabetic street index. You’re encouraged to bring your own maps, guidebooks or reference works to aid in solving clues. While familiarity with San Francisco geography is an advantage, the ability to collaboratively solve a puzzle and work as a team are more important.

For non-ticketing questions please check our Chinese New Year Treasure Hunt FAQ page. For further questions, please email us at

“I highly recommend San Francisco Treasure Hunts to any manager looking to bring their team together over an afternoon of puzzles & fun.”

Mark Provost, Salesforce
“Our team loved the hunt. I loved how (Jayson) Wechter mixes in history. He’s a really fascinating guy. Sort of part historian part tour guide, part facilitator.”

John Ghasghai, TiVo Inc.
“It worked just as well for the participants from across the country as it did for the natives.  A great team-building event!”

Eric Schmautz, Wells Fargo
“Our customized Angel Island hunt was intellectually & physically stimulating. We enjoyed rising to the challenges and would do it again. We all had a great time."

Sara Ruiz, Genentech, Inc.
